Welcome to the IDnet-NM Website

As indicated on our Home Page, IDnet-NM is committed to the principles of objective unbiased science education, promotion of intelligent design as a theory of cosmological and biological origins, and informing New Mexicans about the scientific, religious, and legal issues associated with the teaching of biological origins in public education.

If you are a first-time visitor we invite you to take a tour.

Start with Who is IDnet-NM? to get a broad introduction to who we are and our purposes.

Go to NM Science Standards to gain a basic understanding of the Science Standards and why they are so important.  There is also a link to the New Mexico Science Standards on the State Department of Education website if you want to take a look.  If you are not familiar with the Science Standards then this will be rough going.  When the revised Standards are posted in April 2003, IDnet-NM will be providing commentary and analysis to assist you in understanding the significance of various portions of the Standards.

Next go to Short Essays where there are several essays on topics related to science education in public schools.  Check this page frequently in that we hope to add several important essays in the next few months.

For an introduction to Intelligent Design, go to Intelligent Design FAQ

For a comprehensive summary of the complex issues surrounding the teaching of biological origins in public schools, go to Position Paper.  A word of caution:  It is likely that in the Position Paper you will encounter a number of new ideas and unfamiliar terminology.  And it will likely be a little confusing as to how all of the educational, scientific, legal and philosophical issues all tie together.  This paper will require some effort and some study.  There is simply no easy way to gain understanding of these complex issues other than to simply do the mental work.  It is to the advantage of those who want to keep materialistic bias in public education to also keep the issues complicated and "messy" and as intellectually inaccessible to the average person as possible.  When enough people finally understand the issues, then the game being played in public education will soon be over.  The Position Paper was written to assist the process of putting an end to the game.  This is important.  Do the work!  Just do it!

Polling Data provides results of recent polls on public views about the teaching of evolution and intelligent design in public schools.

New Mexico News will provide important information on current events in New Mexico.  Latest news on the debate over the revised Science Standards will be posted here.

There is a wealth of credible information on the Internet.  Go to Links to hook up with some key sites.  The IDnet National Headquarters provides excellent practical information on how to deal with school boards and documents the details of recent IDnet activities in Ohio and West Virginia.  Access Research Network is a very important site and there you will find great articles by leading figures in the Intelligent Design movement such as Phillip Johnson, Michael Behe, Jonathan Wells, and Nancy Pearcey.

You will also find excellent books, audiocassettes, and videos.  Probably the best - and completely painless - single source for an introduction to intelligent design is a video called "Unlocking the Mystery of Life".  After you have seen this video, your view of what it means to be alive will be forever changed.  That is a promise.

If you are a scientist or engineer with an advanced degree and would like to consider endorsing a public scientific dissent from Darwinism, go to Scientific Endorsement .  Add your name to a list of over 80 New Mexico scientists who have publicly stated their position.  And inform your colleagues.  We want to build a list of 200 scientists to present to the State Board of Education in support of objective science education.

How You Can Help gives you an opportunity to register your interest in participating in and supporting a statewide movement calling for teaching scientific theories of origins based on objectivity and evidence rather than materialistic bias.

Finally, we urge you to join with New Mexicans across the state in this vital cause during this April-to-August 2003 window of opportunity.

If your voice is not heard, you opinion will not matter.  The first step in ensuring your voice will be heard is registering your interest with IDnet-NM at  How You Can Help.

Thanks for stopping by.

Managing Director,
